fast, cost-effective time series database (single node) VictoriaMetrics stores time series and answers PromQL/MetricsQL queries. It accepts the Prometheus remote-write protocol, so vmagent - or Prometheus itself - pushes into it, and Grafana reads it as a Prometheus datasource. . This package repackages the official release binary (sha256 verified) with a `victoria-metrics` system user, /var/lib/victoria-metrics for the data, /etc/default/victoria-metrics for the arguments and a hardened systemd unit that is neither enabled nor started on install. . Unlike the archive's victoria-metrics, it carries the server only; the agents are the vmagent and vmalert packages built from the same release.
