About this package

S3-compatible object storage server SILO is a maintained fork of MinIO: an S3-compatible object storage server supporting bucket versioning, object locking, lifecycle rules and bucket replication, usable as a single node on a single drive. . This package repackages the official SILO release binary (sha256 verified against the upstream release) with a `silo` system user, an /etc/silo/silo.env seeded empty for configuration management to fill, and a hardened systemd unit. The service is neither enabled nor started on install - write silo.env first. Upstream's own .deb ships an equivalent package whose unit carries no hardening and whose /etc/default/silo is a conffile; neither suits a host whose configuration is templated.
