Prometheus exporter for machine metrics node_exporter exposes hardware and kernel metrics - CPU, memory, disks, filesystems, network interfaces, pressure, timekeeping - in the Prometheus text format, for a scraper such as vmagent to collect. . This package repackages the official release binary (sha256 verified) in the Debian archive package's layout: /usr/bin/prometheus-node-exporter, the `prometheus` system user, /etc/default/prometheus-node-exporter for the arguments and /var/lib/prometheus/node-exporter for textfile metrics, so prometheus-node-exporter-collectors works on top of it. The hardened systemd unit is neither enabled nor started on install, and the seeded arguments bind the exporter to loopback.
