command-line client for SILO and other S3 object stores mcli is the client of SILO, a maintained fork of MinIO, and is itself a fork of the MinIO Client. It speaks the S3 API and the server's admin API, so it is what creates IAM policies and service accounts - operations the S3 API does not expose and which therefore cannot be driven with a signed curl. . It is named mcli rather than mc because Debian's mc is GNU Midnight Commander. . This package repackages the official linux-amd64 release binary (sha256 verified against the upstream release). It differs from upstream's own .deb in three ways: the binary goes in /usr/bin rather than /usr/local/bin, which Debian Policy reserves for the local administrator; ca-certificates is declared, without which an HTTPS endpoint fails to verify on a minimal host; and the licences are shipped as a DEP-5 copyright file rather than under /usr/share/licenses, which is an RPM convention.
